1. Who we are

Grenzer is developed and operated by Dpro GmbH, Wipplingerstraße 20/18, 1010 Wien, Austria (UID ATU81090445, Firmenbuchnummer 631492s). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at info@dpro.at for any privacy question or request.

2. What data we collect

Account data

When you register at grenzer.net to get a license (Free or Pro), we collect your email address and the server IP address(es) you register. This is required to issue and validate a license key — Grenzer's daemon checks it against api.grenzer.net periodically.

Payment data (Pro tier only)

Pro subscriptions are billed through Stripe. We never see or store your card details — Stripe processes and stores payment information under its own privacy policy and PCI-DSS compliance. We retain only what Stripe provides us for billing records: subscription status, amount, and billing date.

Support communications

If you email info@dpro.at, we keep that correspondence to respond to and resolve your request.

What we do not collect

The Grenzer daemon does not transmit your server's security logs, blocked-IP history, or file contents anywhere. License validation calls send only your license key and server IP — nothing else leaves your server unless you explicitly enable an optional feature that says otherwise.

3. Why we process it (legal basis)

5. Data retention

We retain account and license data for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax, and dispute-resolution purposes (typically up to 7 years for billing records, per Austrian commercial law). You can request earlier deletion — see Section 7.

6. Cookies

The grenzer.net marketing site uses no tracking or advertising cookies. Any cookies set are strictly functional (e.g. remembering a cookie-consent choice), if introduced in the future.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

As an EU-based controller, we honor your rights under the GDPR:

To exercise any of these, email info@dpro.at. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian data protection authority (Datenschutzbehörde, dsb.gv.at).

8. Security

License and account data is stored on infrastructure we control, accessed only by authorized Dpro GmbH personnel. License validation traffic between the Grenzer daemon and api.grenzer.net is encrypted (HTTPS).

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Grenzer evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
