1. Acceptance of these terms
By registering an account, installing Grenzer, or purchasing a Pro license, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you're accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to bind that company.
2. The service
Grenzer is a Linux server security platform provided by Dpro GmbH, available in two tiers:
- Free — nftables firewall, Login Failure Detection, and signed automatic updates. No cost. Still requires an account and a registered server IP to receive a license key, as with the Pro tier.
- Pro — everything in Free, plus AI-augmented detection, MCP server integration, multi-tenant backup, the advanced web dashboard, and the cPanel/WHM plugin. Billed at $16/month, annually only ($192/year), per server.
3. Account & license registration
Every install — Free or Pro — is bound to a specific server IP address and validated against api.grenzer.net on a recurring schedule (currently every 6 hours for licensed features). You're responsible for keeping your registered IP current; a license does not automatically follow a server to a new IP.
4. Payment & billing (Pro tier)
- Pro is billed annually only — no monthly billing option.
- Payment is processed by Stripe. By subscribing, you also agree to Stripe's terms for the payment method you use.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each annual term unless cancelled beforehand.
- Refunds: [placeholder — refund window/policy to be finalized before launch, e.g. pro-rated refund within 14 days of initial purchase].
5. No grace period on expiry
If a Pro license expires or payment fails, Pro features stop immediately — there is no grace period. Your installation automatically continues on the Free tier (firewall + LFD keep running); it does not go unprotected.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Grenzer to facilitate illegal activity, or to attack systems you don't own or have authorization to test
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source of the proprietary Grenzer binary
- Resell, sublicense, or share a license key across servers beyond what your plan permits
- Attempt to circumvent license validation
7. Service availability
We aim for high availability of api.grenzer.net and the licensing/update infrastructure, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. Grenzer's Free-tier firewall and LFD functions are designed to keep running locally on your server even during a license-server outage.
8. Limitation of liability
Grenzer is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by Austrian law, Dpro GmbH is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, downtime, or security incidents not caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.
9. Termination
You may stop using Grenzer and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate Section 6 (Acceptable Use) or fail to pay for an active Pro subscription, subject to Section 5.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by Austrian law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Vienna, Austria.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Grenzer evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
